In our ongoing search for unique programming at Chantilly Farm, we’re looking forward to presenting a lineup of incredibly talented performance artists that will dazzle and delight both the young and young at heart! We’ve drawn inspiration from the sideshows and circus arts of an earlier time and blended those with more modern cirque-style acrobatic performance arts in an effort to create something that is truly one-of-a-kind in our community. We welcome all to come and join us for what is sure to be a spectacular experience that you’ll be talking about long after the closing performances of the evening.

The event will feature an evening performance from New York City based acrobatic aerial cirque performers, ‘ImaginAerial’. Performing to international acclaim and sold out audiences around the globe, the group’s dynamic style of storytelling and distinctive acrobatics in the air and on the ground have made ImaginAerial Productions one of the most sought after performance companies of its kind. ImaginAerial offers a unique performance art unlike anything else, blending acrobatics, dance, and storytelling into a fascinating spectacle!
This visually stunning, family-friendly acrobatic performance is sure to delight and amaze with this breathtaking performance right in the heart of The Blue Ridge Mountains. Get prepared for a truly unforgettable event!
StoryUp, an aerial storytelling troop based in North Carolina, will be presenting awe-inspiring tales of Aesop’s Fables with a unique twist that will capture the imagination of children and adults alike.
Perhaps no one can describe the talents of the StoryUp troop better than themselves. “We tell folktales and fables using the ground, the air, and all of the space in-between.”
StoryUp will perform on a free-standing acrobatic tower located near the Country Store area of the festival field. So be sure and not miss the troop’s gravity defying feats of literacy at this year’s Cirque du Floyd!
Formerly based in Washington, DC and now based in Floyd, Virginia, Dance Afire Productions harnesses the power and beauty of fire to create a dazzling and interactive display of light blended with unique movement arts. The sensational performance includes original music, unique costumes, and a skill for the fire arts that very few possess!
Dance Afire has performed at notable events such as FloydFest, the annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC, Southwest Waterfront Festival, Pex Summer Festival, various fundraisers and many others. So join us for a spectacle of fire that you’ll be sure to remember long after the event.
Nelson Oliver, one of Roanoke’s top and most sought after performers, will be performing magic on the sideshow stage and roaming at Cirque Du Floyd on August 19. For the past 20 years he has been performing and honing his craft up and down the east coast from college events to festivals with his uniquely odd brand of magic. Nelson has been featured in multiple movies and TV shows, and currently stars in his own TV series, Misfit Magic. Nelson’s magic has a wide range from wild sideshow stunts and humorous bizarre illusion to mind blowing hypnosis that engages all audiences.
Circus Arts Roanoke will offer FREE acro-yoga and family acrobatic workshops to attendees who are interested in participating. That’s right, there is no additional cost to participate. Classes are limited in size, so please plan on arriving early to the event so you don’t miss an opportunity to be part of this fun element of Cirque du Floyd while also learning a new skill for free!
The skills taught by Circus Arts Roanoke are not only entertaining, but are used by many to improve their strength, flexibility and overall health. So come out and give it a try. These workshops will be appropriate for all ages and would make for a fantastic family activity!

Miss Kitty’s Society of Wayward Cosmonauts are a dynamic brigade of seasoned stilt-walkers that engage their audiences with amazing wonder-inspiring antics that you’re going to love! The Cosmonauts offer fun and captivating performance art and will be roaming through Chantilly throughout the event.
Be sure and grab a photo with one of the performers while you’re at the event. Whether you’re a kid or a kid at heart, we’re confident that you’ll be impressed with Miss Kitty’s dreamy and laugh-inducing style of performance art.
Cirque du Floyd will feature fantastic local musicians both on the stage and roaming the venue. The Wildmans have performed throughout the area to huge critical acclaim, proving themselves as a young and powerful group of musicians with a distinctive sound. With a past playing everything from folk and bluegrass to classical, the group is sure to impress.
Neal Wyms is a local blues and soul artist with a powerful voice he’s crafted after years in the industry. Backed by his expert band, Neal creates the kind of music you can’t listen to while sitting down! Following the ImaginAerial performance, Neal and his band will do another late-night set on the stage, so stay after the main show and enjoy some smooth bluesy vibes!
A wide variety of fantastic performers will be roaming the festival ground throughout the event to entertain, dazzle, and educate! Some of these folks are local and some have come from far away, but all of them have the Cirque spirit and are excited to perform. Be sure to grab pictures with these performers and enjoy their company as they wander around the venue!
Anticipate roaming performers dazzling patrons as well as live musicians, local food and vendors, a beer and wine garden and so much more. Activities for all ages are available, so bring the whole family!
Tent camping is free on Saturday night with advance ticket purchases. Those wishing to tent camp Friday evening can make reservations at regular campground rates. RV camping will also be available at regular campground rates.
Those wishing to take advantage of Saturday evening’s free tent camping must arrive on-site by 2pm on Saturday, August 19.
A variety of local food and craft vendors will be on-site throughout the event with an ATM located on-site. No outside food or drink will be allowed in the event area.

Ticket purchases are non-refundable and most events take place rain or shine. We love our pets too, but due to insurance and a variety of other reasons we ask that you leave your pets at home when attending events at Chantilly Farm. Pets are allowed in camping areas, but must remain leashed at all times and may not enter the event area.
